Hey sorry it’s been a while since I’ve updated! My camera has been M.I.A. and I’ve been pretty preoccupied with doing second semester senior stuff like being lazy and watching TV. Anyways last night was my last ever high school dance (casual one) with the exception of prom. The girls and I got ready at my house and we had the best outfits ever, gladiator inspired. We had dinner and I made these blondies from a recipe found in the San Jose Mercury News.

Combining sugar, butter, egg, vanilla, and water.

Stirring in dry ingredients.

Mixing in chocolate chips.

Ready to bake.


3/4 cup brown sugar
6 Tbsp butter, room temperature
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp water
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.
2. In a bowl beat sugar, butter, egg, vanilla, and water until well blended. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, add to butter mixture. Beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
3. Spread dough in pan. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until golden brown, especially around the eggs, and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack for 15 minutes before cutting.

Grade: A
These were good, just not as good as my other blondie recipes. I think next time I will sprinkle the chocolate chips on top instead of mixing them in, that way the blondie doesn’t get too puffy. However, I only got 2 bars because they were gone by the next day!
